Personal Statement
I love supporting creatives working in theatre, film, and television, and I also have a specialism working in domestic abuse support. I have a background in international work, beginning in 2001 in Sri Lanka, where I volunteered for a year becoming fluent in Sri Lankan Sign Language, and spent the next 14 years managing volunteer projects. I have since worked internationally with many different deaf communities, and worked as a consultant for various projects. While interpreting remains my primary focus, I also bring accessibility into the well-being space by teaching Yoga bilingually in both BSL and spoken English. I also have worked as a radio producer for the BBC, collaborating with deaf creatives. To ensure the highest standard of service and maintain my professional resilience during demanding assignments, I undergo regular clinical supervision. I am passionate about demystifying interpreting, and have published guidance about how to work with interpreters, which many of my peers now also distribute to their clients. Whether you need an organised interpreter for a media production, a specialist for domestic abuse support, or a consultant for projects, or simply have a question about interpreting, please get in touch.
